I'm not seeing any applications for that category, which leads me to believe that it was denied.

As I have previously posted before... I'd love some feedback for why I got rejected... as this is the third time I have applied and still to date I haven't received an reply email to any of my applications...

and I definintely don't have spam filters on my email account- I know this because it is my own mail server :)

I'm a tad frustrated because my previous rejections were i) because the category for too prone to spam apparently (found out only after asking here) and ii) the category I applied for was too high a level (again only found out by asking here)

Is it too much to get some feedback from the horses mouth? The current category I applied for is empty and is at the lowest possible level with no little risk of spam!

Is it possible to email the person who rejected my application and get a reply? - is it permissible- because otherwise I feel I am beating my head against a brick wall... or should I repost the same app and ask why it was rejected and ask for an email reply?

These are the sites I selected - would someone be able to tell me if they are appropriate (I sure as hell think they are) and if the descriptions are compliant with dmoz?

Sorry, but we don't have any way of knowing why an application was denied.

But looking at your previous threads here I'm a tad curious why you made such a drastic change to your area of interest. You've gone from a Dating category to Accounting. I didn't review your applications, but seeing this shift in focus would make me a little bit suspicious of your motivations for wanting to be an editor. Do you want to be an editor to help improve the directory by adding some good Accounting web sites, or do you maybe have some dating web sites that you are trying to get listed, and you figure this is the way to do it? Sorry if that sounds accusatory, but that's what would be going through my mind if I had been reviewing your current application and I had also seen your previous application.

All I can say is that you are free to apply again, but make sure that you read through all of the information referenced in the [thread=1289]FAQ and General Advice[/thread] thread.

yes, I did apply to that area but moved away because I was told it was too spam prone. Is this going to follow me around every area I apply in?

I have a genuine interest in both of these areas, and also it seems a bit a of chasm between the two areas. How would I get a dating site listed by editing the accounting category?

Anyway, so is it possible to get a reply email with a reason? Surely that can't be asking too much...or would it be possible to message the editor and ask why?

It seems as though almost everyone else has at least been privy to a reason. By the way - what's wrong with the sites I selected?

( I know I am asking a few questions- but I wouldn't even bother if I had at least got a reason for the rejections in the first place)

Cheers,

Brad

It might follow you around. Sorry, but that's the way it goes.

We have a lot of things to look at when we are reviewing new editor applications. There may not be anything wrong with the URLs that you are submitting as examples, but that's not the only thing that we are looking at when we are reviewing the application.

We usually don't have any easy way of knowing who denied an application and we wouldn't give out that information if we did know. Reviewing metas have the option of sending an anonymous reply, so even if you had received the e-mail, you may not have known who it was from anyway. Most of us tend to use that option when we reject applications.

I think that you need to either re-apply, or think about a different hobby. I know that sounds harsh but this discussion is just going to keep coming back to the fact that we don't have any more information to give you. Sorry.

fantastic....

though I will say something...if I was dodgy I wouldn't have applied under the same username after previously applying in a spam prone area - that would have just been stupid - but I guess my honesty paid the price...neverless I appreciate you being frank.

But I still don't know - can I email the editor and ask for a reason?

Thanks,

Brad

No. Even if I knew which Meta had reviewed the application I would not be able to divulge that information to you.
