I recently did a lot of web searching for that stuff, but I search a lot of things. If there are some categories that particularly need editors, it would be nice to know where I can help out the most.

We hear that question a lot, but it's not really the one we want to answer. Pick something you have a passion for, and can add a dozen or more good listings for. Once you're inside and have a track record, we have several ways to find places where new help could be utilized.

I see hutcheson's answered your second question, so I'll go for your first: There's no application for that category in the queue, so that means you've been rejected. If you'd like to reapply, you might find the advice in the FAQ useful.
