Objections not accepted
Hello All,
I submitted an application for becoming an editor on dated April 30, 2008 under the category of Regional: Asia: Pakistan: Provinces: Punjab: Localities: Sialkot. In reply of submission I received an email with subject ID b23209a53e30e98063174deaea7db7b4.
Now on dated May 10, 2008 I received an email from noreply@dmoz.org as follows which I think is automated reply and I would like to answer under each objection. Your objection is marked with * and my answer is without it.
*Incomplete application. Insufficient information has been provided in some fields including reason, affiliation and/or Samples URLs.
I filled all the fields with sufficient informations which I can.
*Improper spelling and grammar.
I can send you the complete data which I submitted (I saved it) and if you will find a single spelling or grammar mistake then I will be punished and will not blame.
*Sample URLs are inappropriate for the category which one has applied to
edit. They may be too broad, too narrow, completely out of scope, poor
quality, or in a language inappropriate for the category. All non-English
sites are listed in the World category. Applications for World categories
that include sites only in English will be denied. Likewise, applications
for World categories that include sample URLs in languages other than the one
appropriate for the applied category will be denied.
Totally wrong, I submitted the websites which are not too broad, narrow and each web is 100% on one subject and within the scoop and developed very high quality. I suggested 3 websites which are under Regional categories and how can he comment that these are not submitted under appropriate category?
*Not properly disclosing affiliations with websites that are, or have the
potential of being, listed in the category.
I have no affiliations with any website. I want to online my city’s websites which are able to list in ODP and I suggested 3 from all those and hundreds of I know. I want to serve my city people voluntarily.
*Titles and descriptions of sample URLs (and other information provided)
were subjective and promotional rather than unbiased and objective. ODP
editors do not rank or write website reviews. ODP editors provide objective
and unbiased descriptions of websites and their content.
I am totally fed up with these comments. I can send you print screen of all 3 webs which I suggested and you will see I used title and description within the guidelines “title is company name and description very short but descriptive".
*Self-Promotion. Application which leads us to believe that the candidate is
interested primarily in promoting his/her own sites or those with which the
applicant is affiliated. The ODP is not a marketing tool, and should not be
used to circumvent the site submission process. If this is an applicant's
motivation for joining, then we ask him/her not to apply. Editors found to be
inappropriately promoting their own site will be promptly removed.
By God, by God it is totally wrong, I am not affiliated with these webs and not promoting my self. I have no website, no marketing company or anything else which over rule the ODP guidelines.
Please send me your personal email address that I can send you print screen and data which I submitted.
