Hello,

I've submit my application on 15th. October for the following category:

http://www.dmoz.org/World/Srpski/Kompjuteri/Internet/Chat_i_diskusione_grupe

Editor name I've used in my application is the same as my nick here on the Resource Zone, I think...it was a while ago.

Thank You, for Your reply.

Best regards...

There's an application of that date for that category awaiting evaluation but it has an entirely different editor name. Despite that, I'm sure it's yours.

Yes, probably I used a shorter editor name or something, I really can't remember. Thank You for Your quick reply it is so nice to have answers to questions in such a short notice.

Sorry for disturbing, but any updates about the processing of the application? It's been a while and I still didn't received any information. I respect the work You are doing, but sincere the World/Srpski part of category is horrible since I don't see cicka as the editor who was responsible for that part.

It's still awaiting evaluation. Very few volunteer meta editors will be fluent in that language so it could take a while.

Dear jimnoble,

Three months passed, is there any chance to review the application, if the Meat community doesn't has a Serbian speaking person, maybe a translator would help. It is a bit strange that Serbian or any other language applications couldn't be reviewed because of the lack of persons talking that language, especially if this is an international community.

It'll be evaluated when some meta editor or catmod with appropriate permissions feels competent to do so and volunteers to do so.

I meet neither of those conditions and I don't think that ODP is somehow responsible for the lack of volunteers in your language. If you wish, I can decline your current application so that you can start over in some other language.

Dear jimnoble,

I will quote some things I find interesting.

Like any community, you get what you give. The Open Directory provides the opportunity for everyone to contribute.

Regarding to You answer, some peoples doesn't have an opportunity to contribute because You are discriminating them by the language they use, even You are aware that ODP is a wide world internet community.

We accept editors from all walks of life, and we attempt to represent all points of view. We will keep our application process open to anyone interested in joining. Each new editor application will be reviewed by a member of the ODP community.

How can I join if Yoy are telling me that I should write another application for another language and not my native, even World/Srpski exist as a part of Your project. Even You are all volunteers, that doesn't means that some language should suffer and applicants should be discriminated on language basis and recommended to apply for another language? Even if You have the ability to use Your discretion powers for telling me that it will be reviewed when it will be, or You will decline it right now...why would You decline an application You don't understand? I guess You have a policy when and why You can decline an application or You do that based on free will?

I'm not sure that legal section of the AOL would like to deal with a letter from a Serbian citizen who want to become a member of an international community while she was talking to get rid of practicing her language to UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, also Mr. Šimonović as Assistant Secretary-General for Human Rights from Croatia would understand better my concerns about the politics forced in the community which is a part of AOL Netscape.

Thank You!

No I didn't. I offered it as an option to you as a personal favour. That offer is now withdrawn.

AOL has made it clear to editors that we must not get involved in legal discussions and must cease communications once they are started or threatened. We aren't trained lawyers and it's entirely unreasonable to expect volunteers to take on that role or speak for AOL.

Please address all future comments to http://legal.web.aol.com/feedback.html .
