Applied 3 months ago, no response!

I applied for the sci fi books section, but have not received a reply, is this unusual? I do not want to apply again if ODP do not send rejection e-mails.

Could anyone look into this, sorry if you get hundreds of these requests.

When you apply to become an editor, you will receive a form email stating that your application was received. If you have not received this email, then you should re-apply. The email must be replied to in order for your application to be processed.

At a minimum, you must not make grammatical or mechanical errors when writing your application.

Yep, I got that form and sent it back. I received that after about 2days, no reply since!!

It's quite likely that your application is still in line, depending on how many metas are going through newapps in that category.

I would advise re-applying.

Re-applying can sometimes cause problems. It's best to wait for a definitive answer (from a Meta) that the application is still in queue, has been rejected, or has not been received.

If you do re-apply, then write everything in a text editor first, keeping a copy for if you need it again, and copy and paste the information into the application form. Try to use the same editor name that you chose before. If the system will not let you, then make sure that you do include the name you previously tried to use, so that one application can be deferred.

I don't see any applications in the queue for a user name of bannah (assuming that you used the same userid as on this forum), and I don't see any apps for any sci fi book categories. Best to resubmit.

If your application was for http://dmoz.org/Arts/Literature/Genres/Science_Fiction/, then it probably would have been rejected, as that would be too big of a category for a new editor. Make sure you read and understand http://dmoz.org/help/become.html before submitting a new application.
