Applied 3 months ago

Yes.. I recieved the email and responded to it promptly.
Is there anyway someone can check on the status of my application?
Thanks
Alex

zango123 - yes, a meta editor will be able to check on the status of your application. I cannot tell you when that is going to be, but hopefully soon. <img src="/images/icons/smile.gif" alt="" />

Then why didn't he get a rejection letter. I just applied, and got this e-mail from the DMOZ:

"Thanks for applying to become an editor!

"You will receive a reply as soon as your application
has been reviewed."

This does state that the applicant should get a reply. Even if it was a form letter rejection.

Hello, I applied to the http://dmoz.org/Regional/North_America/United_States/Colorado/Localities/B/Boulder/Business_and_Economy/Services/ category about 3 weeks ago and I actually did receive an email explaining why I was rejected (I suggested some sites that could have gone in multiple categories and might have fit in another one better). I then resubmitted with better sites within a week (two weeks ago) and I haven't heard anything else since.

After the first application I kind of expected about the same turn-around time for the second one. Could a meta check that category to see if my application is still in que? Just want to know if I should resubmit or not. Thanks!

You cannot expect to get an answer (positive or negative) in a given timeframe. It all depends on who's available to evaluate newapps. I guess there is a significant backlog due to the problems we experienced this week in accessing the editor part of the server, so I wouldn't be too anxious. You should normally get an answer. When, I can't honestly tell you, but very probably not in the far future.

When I said I "kind of expected" I should have followed that up with something to the effect that I was being hopeful. I have read through a lot of these forums and it seems that there is a lot going on and things take time. I can respect that. Thanks!
