Ive applied and e-mailed with cmiller to help :crazy:

with the category....

She has rejected my offer.

Ive noticed that the category has been unchanged for quite awhile, and that there is one 404 link that has been that way for a few months.

Has this person quit as editor?

I'd love to take over as editor in this category if I could?

Did you actually apply to become an editor of that category? It's not up to the current editor of a category to decide whether or not another editor will be approved there...that's the job of the meta editors who review the new applications.

Thanks for the reply. No I didnt, just asked her if I could. But my motivation was the neglect mentioned of the category, and wanting to help her.

How long does a cat have to go neglected before Dmoz docks the editor and one can apply for the category?

We don't "dock" an editor for not being active in a category. As has been mentioned in other threads, the fact that there's an editor listed in any given category shouldn't deter you from applying for it.

But you can't be accepted for a category if you don't apply for it.

I was docked for not editing my category a couple years ago??? My user was albaby.

If you actually did get "not approved" consider this: In your application did you use correct grammar and English? Or did your description in what you are applying for or why you want to volunteer for ODP not suit the category you wanted?

Schoik, it would be really helpful if you would let editors respond to applicant questions rather than taking it upon yourself to answer them. Thanks.

albaby, you're going to have to apply for reinstatement as you did time out (it's an automatic feature if someone doesn't edit at all for 4 months, not the same thing as being removed for neglecting a particular category).

I have reapplied, but every time I do, the form says it doesnt recognize my email address. I put in albaby@cyberdude.com, and Im sorta sure
