Applied to become an editor ..

Hi,

I applied to become an editor, and received an email which requird me to reply to the message in order to confirm my app.

For some reason though, it states I have 'bad authentication' [automated reply]

Can somebody help me out? I applied with the email address 'ahmedf@ogaming.com'

Thanks for any help! /images/icons/smile.gif

Until your first application is evaluated, you're not allowed to apply again. The first time you applied, did you manage to get the confirmation email through?

Nope ... just the automated denied email by daeomon@dmoz.org ... seems like the confirmation code was/is invalid.

Can someone 'switch it on' for me? /images/icons/smile.gif [username: ahmedf]

There's no ahmedf in the queue. As far as I know, applications which don't pass the automatic confirmation are discarded completely - there's no way we can retrieve it and "switch it on".

I'm afraid you'll just have to try again. /images/icons/frown.gif

Perhaps it's worth trying with another email adress? You can change it afterwards, if you're accepted as an editor. (I don't know anything about how the confirmation process works, so this is just a wild guess. /images/icons/smile.gif )

Please post again if that doesn't help!

Regards, Hilde

AhmedF,

Let us know if it won't let you reapply. If that's the case, you're old app is "there" but cannot be "seen". We'll have to notify staff to delete it and then you could reapply.

Have you set your e-mail client to some language that uses non-ascii characters?

I'm only guessing, but there's a theoretic possibility that the subject line would then get encoded in terms of your specific character set, which might keep the automatic verification process from recognizing your confirmation code.
