Are you editors just bored?

I've noticed since I joined this forum a few days ago that you editors are pretty active in the forum and seem to reply to posts very quickly. Is this normal or are you bored cos the directory is down?

I'd also like to say that I've been pacified after some rather silly comments and that I now fully appreciate what the ODP is about and why it is pointless whining about why sites don't get listed. I will endeavour to pass the message on and support the good work that you do.

Actually, you'll find that replies come pretty quickly even when the ODP is up and running. Figure that we're all over the world, in all time zones -- some of us even checking in occasionally from work (shhhh!) -- and it really doesn't take a whole lot of time or effort to pop in here to check for new posts.

However, there may be some editors who are coming here and participating more often than they would normally, on the basis that there isn't much else ODP-related to do. Except of course to gather a collection of good sites ready to add when things are working again. I've spent several hours with local newspapers and the business directory, so I can't wait to build up some of the categories in my home city.

I am one editor who just recently popped in here to help out. Yes, out of bordom, but, now I've got a new addiction, and some new friends in here.

I edit in four states, and all of the localities in them, so it's a never ending task, and I'm happy to say that what I do pales in comparison to the responsibilities of the meta editors in here, .

Once we're back up, I won't have as much time to be here, but, I still plan on becoming a permanent fixture in here, as long as they want me.
