Artdc.org Status.

Hello! You run an excellent search engine, and I can't wait to be a part of it! I have several links to dmoz on my site, ( http://artdc.org/artlinks.html ) bringing traffic your way. Close to 6 months ago, I submitted my site, and haven't heard back. I know you are jammed with millions of entries, how ever I do think this of great value to us and the internet community to know about us. Please take a moment. Just incase things got lost, I re-submitted it to the following location:

We do run a great directory - but in fact we run a lousy search engine.

That's why you can't see that your site is now listed in
http://dmoz.org/Arts/Organizations/Regional/United_States/Washington,_DC/

Huh! what do you know. Thanks. I never found it when I searched for artdc. hahaha. Are there plans to upgrade the search engine? Something vortex based?

Also, do you ever do double listings? It seems as though the section of arts/chats forums was lacking. Only 4 pages?

Under certain circumstances:

A site in multiple languages is eligible for consideration in the World/... category for each of the languages.

Many business are eligible for consdieration by topic (what they do) and by region (where they are).

In rare cases, editors will determine that a site has such profound unique content that it is worthy of a second or third listing. It almost goes without saying that the number of sites editors deem worthy of additional listings is inversely proportional to the number of sites whose webmasters/owners think are worthy of additional listings. Thus, we almost universally tell submitters not to submit to more than one category, since it gets tiring deleting all the additional submissions (and because if we see too many of them, we use a very wide brush when cleaning them out and sometimes, accidentally [oops!] clean out all of the submissions of a given URL, leaving the submitter with naught.

It's doubtful the search engine will be updated, also note it runs in delayed mode, your site was only listed in the last week or so, and it may take a week of two for the search thing to get updated. Even then it only finds the ODP site tltle, words in the description, or the URL.

Your site may be still waiting for review in the first category you gave, I don't have a way to access it - another editor might be able to. Sites may get two listings sometimes - it's up to the reviewing editor.
