Hi I listed a site about 1.5 months ago and was just wondering if there are any active editors in this category and a possible ETA on when the site will be listed or not. If NOT do I get a notification on the email address provided. Im confident it will get listed as I seen other Game server companies very similar to mine listed. Here is the category

Games: Video Games: Multiplayer: Game Servers

thanks

>if there are any active editors in this category ...
That is not something we track (i.e. we don't know.)

>and a possible ETA on when the site will be listed or not.
That is not something we can ever know (i.e. definitely not)

>If NOT do I get a notification on the email address provided.
No. If the site is listed, everyone gets notified on the dmoz.org website. And since the purpose is to list sites, wasting any time on unlistable sites doesn't benefit anyone.

>Im confident it will get listed as I seen other Game server companies very similar to mine listed.
That's more like a reason to suspect it will not be listed.

The ONLY reason for listing a site is simple: "there IS no OTHER site similar to it: in some significant respect it is different from ALL other sites."

I don't know. And it is not relevant.
If a site adds something unique to a category (and does not violate any DMOZ guidelines) it will be listed.
When that will happen and who will review the site is something we don't know. Could be tomorrow, or next week, next month, next year or even longer.

The question isn't ever "how many other sites are in a category?" A category can grow as big as needed.

The question is always "what unique information does this site contribute to the sum of human knowledge?"

Without some hints from the website owner, it can be difficult to answer that question. So make very sure your website answers that question. A good site suggestion will help the editor find the answer on the website. (Don't make the mistake of thinking that information in the site suggestion substitutes for information on the website. Surfers will visit the WEBSITE, not the site suggestion, so the editor must review the website.)
