Authorization for Add URL Shop/Music/Sheet_Music?

I'm new to the DMOZ.
When I go to Suggest a URL in Shopping/Music/Sheet_Music (after I fill in the information) the submit button dialog asks for a login (Enter username and password for "ByPassword" at editors.dmoz.org).
I can't see how this could be normal. Any suggestions? Is this only happening in this category?

I had same behavior in another category.

I'm afraid it's a known bug. Apparently the Submit (or suggest) URL script is on //editors.dmoz.org, which is password protected.

Tonight the sign-in dialog appears if I click add URL, and it doesn't even let me get to the fill-in form. Before I was able to fill in my information but when I clicked submit, I got the "enter your username & password" window.

I'm a programmer, so doesn't this seem like a mis-configuration rather than a so called "bug"?

Isn't adding websites to the directory the whole point of this __________ website?

I realize that this is run by volunteers, but this seems like a major problem in functionality to one of the most popular sites online (for now it is).

It is a bug - the script pointing to the wrong server. Still a known bug, still under investigation.

We might be oversimplifying the situation here. The script is pointing to the right server. The problem is much more complex than that. It has something to do with with the way the public side is set up to synchronize with the content on the editor side (which is password protected.)

This is not a simple problem to fix because it has to do with a complex interaction between multiple servers. Staff is working on it. It is not simply a coding error.

Does anyone know if this will corrected soon because I am having the same problem as well

We have not been given a time-frame for resolution of this issue by our technical staff.

We all hope it will be soon, and are doing our best to expedite the process.
