Auto Information of Status

I was just thinking ..

Would it really be that hard for the DMOZ to implement a feature which would auto inform people when their site was rejected or added.. I'm not sure how the Editors control panel works but I'm guessing its dynamic with some database and then eventually a "YES" or "NO" button to add the link or something..

Could it really be that hard to have a sub function in the program to email the person who submitted it (after all they do give you their email address) with an auto response saying Added in "Directory" .. or "Rejected".

It would save a hell of a lot of time!!! and its very very simple to implement

I believe this "auto status information" was requested before but was not accepted by ODP staff for some reason.

Possibly the rejection was due to a similar reason that some of us set our Mail client to not respond to auto email "read receipt requests" because we don't want all (including email spammers) to see when we read our incoming mail, or when we delete them.

Whereas, some of us may set the Mail client to prompt us when somebody ask for "read receipt request", and manually choose if we want to tell whether we read their email. <img src="/images/icons/wink.gif" alt="" />
