Hi, just found this site. We've been trying to get listed for a few years in Consumer Information --> Consumer Opinion. As a new site, i'm sure we've done some things wrong, like resubmit too quickly, write the wrong description, all the things that slow you guys down. I just noticed a younger, much less robust competitor just got listed in ODP. Before I throw in the towel, can I get a little help?
1) Is there such a thing as a ban on a company? We've evolved, have better handle on what we do. Does our past "searching for a model" or improper submission count against us?
2) Is there a backlog in this category? Is this one of the categories you talk about having huge turn around times?
Thanks.

If you have re-suggested your site anytime after 2007-Jan, there is no need to suggest it further. The most common reason for not being listed is simply that an editor has not taken an interest in editing that particular category.

A few repeated submissions will not get a site banned. Repeated and flagrant disregard for our submission guidelines, however, may very well result in a ban.

Just to add that editors aren't compelled to process websites in any particular order. I can't imagine why they'd want to jump through the hoops of finding out a website's age.

Instead, they pick out a promising[1] looking one from the heap, evaluate it and list it if it meets our requirements. They then move on to another, or go walk the dog or whatever.

[1]Promising = not promotional or KW stuffed. Some attempt has been made to meet our editor guidelines.
