Become an Editor link not available in my category

Hi,

I'm looking to become an editor in a category. I read that you have to click the 'become an editor' at the top. However, in the category I'm looking to become an editor for, the link doesn't exist. This category hasn't been updated in almost 3 months. Is there a way to still become an editor for this category? Or is it full? Thanks for your help!

Not all categories are open for new editors - which category did you want to apply for? There are several different reasons why the "Become an editor" link may be absent, and it is easier to answer the question if we know thich category it is.

Common reasons why the link isn't there are that the category is too large or that it is too spammy for a beginner.

I did find it in the FAQ's eventually. I read some categories are not open so I applied to a similar category.
