I always thought that there was an editor conflict issue but I must just be doing something wrong. I am listing in the proper category and our site has articles and videos that we produce that can not be found anywhere else. We are a retail site and we add these elements to set us apart.

ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPREACIATED!

I have read everything over and over to be certain we meet ODP criteria and I am certain we do. We asked an outside SEO company to advise us and they agreed we should have no problem.

I'm sure they know more about our directory than we do :p

Did you read the FAQ yet? It answers your question.

This was the response you gave me 15 months ago, that was about 2 years into my first submission...

We log everything here and I can see that you have suggested your website several times to two different categories and that nobody has yet processed it in any way.

ODP is a volunteer organisation and editors edit where they wish, when they wish and as much as they wish within the constraints of their permissions. We have no system to force people to do work that they don't volunteer to do. ODP is not a free listing service for website owners and it does not attempt to process their listing suggestions within the time scales desired by them.

Some volunteer will process your listing suggestions in time but we can't predict who or when that might be. Elapsed times can range from a few days to a few years. There is no need to re-suggest your website and doing so could be counter-productive because a later suggestion overwrites any any earlier one.

There is no evidence of editorial abuse.

So you know the answer already. Repeatedly asking the same question in the hope of getting a 'better' answer seems a touch pointless to me.

<added> It would seem that you submitted two abuse reports on this matter in 2008 and 2009 - which elicited pretty well identical replies :(. </added>

You said "a few days to a few years" We are now past a few years? Giving wrong answers seems equally as pointless to me. This evening I have done a little reading and it seems a listing is not of importance now. When I first started submitting it was a must have but I guess attitudes like your has turned it into a dinosaur. Ride it the rest of the way down gentlemen!

Not really. Despite my advice to the contrary, you chose to suggest it again on 2009-07-31. That's less than 6 months ago.

As for the other stuff, if you want to believe everything you read on the net, go for it.
