Hello. I am checking the status on the site better-advice.com that I submitted on March 13, 2005 in the Society: Relationships: Advice catagory. I waited a month, and I haven't heard a response. I checked in the directory, and it is not yet listed. I am trying to do everything by the book, and I understand it can take awhile. I am just wondering if you knew the status, or if I would receive notification when it was posted or if it was rejected. If it has not been reviewed yet, how can I check next time so I don't have to bother the editors again. I am currently under the impression that the way to check status of a submission is to post here in the forum, am I wrong?

Thank you for your time,

Hi Nicole,

First of all, you shouldn't expect to hear any sort of response - there is no notifictaion about the status of a suggestion - that is why we have this forum, so you have come to the right place.

The best thing you can do is to make editor's life easy by providing a clickable link to the DMOZ category you submitted to - then we can check on it for you.

Once you have received acknowledgment that the suggestion has been received. You have two options as to updates - keep watching the category to see if the site is listed, opr, after six months from the origional status check, you can come back here and get updates.

Hope this helps.

In your reply, you said that providing a clickable link would make it easier for the editors so they can check the status of my submission. I hope this is what you asked for. (I'm not the best with technology, but I try.) I will wait for you to see this posting and hopefully give me acknowledgement that my submission was received. Once I get that, I'll keep checking for the six months and see what happens. Just to clarify, how would I know if my site is ever rejected?

Thank you again for your help,

To answer your other question - you are more than welcome to come back here at intervals of no less than 6 months and get an update. If for some reason an editor declined to list the site, then we will tell you.

Hope this helps.
