The site is still waiting to be reviewed among a large amount of other sites. No need to resubmit.

FYI: http://bitzi.com/ is unresponsible right now. For that reason it was rejected once back in 2002.

Thanks for your response. Is there any estimate on the backlog in that category (1 month? 3 months? etc.)

Is there anything I can do to help? I previously tried to volunteer as editor for that category, but was shunted elsewhere.

Also, your report of our website unresponsiveness concerns me. Our network logs show no outages in the last 12 hours. Is it still a problem?

Thanks,

Re: bitzi.com->/Comp/SW/Internet/Clients/File_Shar

The site does not work very fast for me. Sits there telling me it's transferring for about 30 seconds before I get any data on the page. If I was editing, I might have given up, and assumed it was dead. I'm on DSL.

Loaded within a couple of seconds for me. Perhaps this is browser-specific behavior (I'm using Mozilla 1.4)? Or some transient flakiness in the connection?

I got the impression the server was trying to foist some wierd MIME type off on me. Perhaps there's a server configuration problem? [The IE is notorious about intermittently ignoring MIME types. Mozilla observes them religiously per the Internet standards -- this is not a new requirement, folks, it goes all the way back to the beginning of HTTP!]

Still waiting for site to be listed.

Any unresponsiveness problems are transient and rare -- we get tens of thousands of successful page views, and dozens of new registrations and user contributions, every day.

Since it seems this category has a backlog of months (if not years), I've previously tried to volunteer to edit it, but been rebuffed. I follow the file sharing arena closely, and could easily keep my personal agenda separate from the quality/completeness of the directory.

With such a backlog, why isn't more help welcomed?

Thanks for any light that can be shed on this situation,

- Gordon @ Bitzi
