Blocked access to dmoz.org

For about the last two weeks we have been unable to access www.dmoz.org or dmoz.org.

Finally this morning we tried access from another network and can get to the site just fine.

DNS is no different between the networks.... both resolve to 207.200.81.154 .

The only activity we have had on the site is submitting sites and submission of a editor application. I can't for the life of me figure out why this should be happening.

Does anyone have any ideas?

It should be available. Are you behind any censoring firewalls (i.e., are you in China)?

Thanks but it is not a firewall issue. I administer our firewall and the lack of response from the dmoz web servers cannot be confused with the blocking provided by our Sonicwall.


The dmoz webserver(s) just plain do not respond to my IP. Works fine from the same computer when I use a proxy though....

My main concern is that something is going on that could have some effect on my site submissions and on an editor application ( nothing heard on in over a month ).

We can't give you any information on your site suggestions but if it really has been over a month since you last applied to become an editor, you can post in our Becoming an Editor forum and we'll tell whether or not it's been reviewed yet (make you read the information in the Forum Guidelines - READ BEFORE POSTING thread first).
