Bingo. /images/icons/smile.gif

Re: Forum Bug

No clue where to ask questions about how things work here or suggest improvements, so hijacking this thread! :p

On the Main Index page, the folders show when there are new posts, and the nice red text shows how many new threads and posts ... but, once you get into the thread, there's nothing to show where the new posts are! Can something be done, like adding the red text there, too, to show new posts?

Just a thought /images/icons/smile.gif

Re: Forum Bug

Actually it does, under the replies column it says 2 (1). The 1 denotes how many new posts there are. :)

Re: Forum Bug

Hmm, it doesn't say that on mine. /images/icons/frown.gif Shows like this:

Forum Bug mjmendl 11 3 03/26/02 07:39 AM

(i.e. just says "3", not 2(1))

Re: Forum Bug

Thanks to whoever changed things. /images/icons/smile.gif NOW it shows how many new messages in which thread, AND the ones with unread messages have orange icons instead of yellow.

(Happy now!)

Re: Forum Bug

I'm not sure if this has been mentionned before.... but I think there's a bug with the forum "Français". Smileys doesn't seem to work there and some editors said they couldn't edit their posts (didn't verify this info myself though). Maybe someone could look into this please?

Thanks

Re: Forum Bug

I couldn't edit one of my posts while using the French-language interface (the buttons to validate an edited post don't hold any text and don't work).
However, as soon as I changed back to the English interface, it worked /images/icons/wink.gif
And I could not have smileys working in that forum, nor make a clickable link...

Re: Forum Bug

Parsing problem that I can't fix. I've tried everything. Changed the encoding and made some changes to the parsing function and I just can't stomp that bug out. French language is the only one that is doing this.

Re: Forum Bug

It is fixed. After looking at code all day I couldn't see the obvious until I took a little break.. All is fixed if you use the French language.

Re: Forum Bug

First of all I think there should be an entry in the FAQ or somewhere else telling where to report bugs in these forums. (I hope this is the correct location.)

I have noticed that the server time offset works very nice in the forums, but in "My Home" it doesn't work - at least not for me. It's kind of confusing when I look at the last post time under "Favorite Forums".

Except for that the forums seem to work great.

Re: Forum Bug

Hmm, not sure if this is a Bug or not, but within some fora, I don't get the number of new posts added to the thread since last visit shown in brackets against each thread, but in other fora I do. This has been happening for several days.

[Can someone fix the thread stretch caused by the double URL in item 1 please?]

I dont know if its just me (didnt find any setting I could have tweaked) but as an example in this thread the IMAGE tag in theseeker's post does not work for me. Its the same with them all over the forum, this is only an example.

[Using german desktop here, all "Show me"'s in the settings are enabled]

Thanks for your help hildea - I had to turn off my firewall before it would let me post. Thanks to everyone who gave me suggestions - genietay <img src="/images/icons/grin.gif" alt="" />
