Can anyone help me?

Hi. My site has been listed on DMOZ for several years. It just recently dropped off the directory. Approximately 6 months ago, I requested to be moved from the wigs category to the hats and caps category. Now I am not listed at all. Am I being punished for asking to be moved? Can anyone help? I hope it is okay to give my site here - it is headcovers.com. Can anyone tell me who could help if this is not the right place? Thanks in advance.

Thank you so much for checking. Is there any expedited process for sites that are being moved (that have already been accepted and listed on DMOZ for a long period of time) or should I assume that it could take months to show up in the directory again? Does the editor in the "caps and hats" category have a large number of submissions waiting, and do you know how active this person is? Thank you for your assistance. I feel that I have made a big mistake by requesting the move as I didn't realize that this request might knock me off DMOZ for months. Is there anything I can do? Thank you for your help.

Expedite your listing? No, we can't do that.

One of two things will happen:

1) The editor in the category you requested to get moved to, will get to you.

2) An upper level editor will eventually get to you.

We (editors, metas, editall, etc...) are all volunteers. We work on our time. We work for free.

Asking to be moved back to your former category, would probably fall on deaf ears. As, you have changed your sites content to the degree you felt it belonged in the category it is waiting for. The editor in the former category should look at your site, if for some reason it got moved back. They would / should note that your content has changed.....and promptly forward your site back to the second category. And your site then would be at the end of the queue.

Have some patience, s/he will get to you in time.

Thank you for answering me. I now understand the process. My site actually belongs in both categories; it could have stayed in the former one and been listed correctly also. I now wish that I had left it alone; I didn't realize that I would be knocked off DMOZ for the request. I should have researched this more before I asked to be moved.

If a site truly has two unique focuses, why do you not allow both listings? I am listed in both categories in the Yahoo directory (this was before paid inclusion; I was grandfathered in and remain in both categories at no charge). Anyway, thanks for your time, and for volunteering.
