Can my site be added?

biff

Hello, I have submitted my site, http://biff.cjb.net, to be added to the directory. This is a rediredtion url. I know that url's that redirect should not be submitted, but my computer has a dynamic ip which changes every couple days on average.
Therefore the only way that I can submit my site is using a redirection url.

Can my site be accepted?

No. We do not list redirector URLs. This is not negotiable: redirectors cause an unacceptable amount of work for us, and cause too many directory-quality problems. They are very popular with all kinds of spammers, because it is so easy for a spammer to cause us that inordinate amount of cleanup work. In addition, cjb.net has a spectacularly vile reputation as a virus vector and site-hijacker, besides exhibiting all the contemptible vices associated with all large-scale redirector services.

When your site is on a real internet node with a real domain name, you may submit it, and we'll review it.

If you are on a dynamical IP address there are sites that offer dynamical DNS services. With these, you don't change the actual URL (it is not a redirect/vanity URL) rather than the DNS listing for the domain. It is a "real" domain, and the IP address record (that points to your machine) is updated within a few seconds after you (or software on your computer) requests the change.

Try looking at http://dmoz.org/Computers/Software/Internet/Servers/Address_Management/Dynamic_DNS_Services/ for a list of services.
