You can not add a website. Only editors can.
What you can do (and probably have been doing) is suggest a site for the editor to look at.
From you statement I think you have been suggesting your site more than once. That is not needed. One suggestion is enough.

With almost 600.000 categories and only some 6 to 7000 editors a lot of categories must wait several months between updates. And when a category is updated it does not mean that all waiting sites a reviewed. Sometimes a site is reviewed years afetr it has been suggested.

I am afread you can do nothing.

The mail will also include a list of common mistakes. One or more of them was made by you. Part of the application process is to see if you can find the mistakes you made yourself and correct them. Unless the email specificaly said not to apply again you are free ot try again.

I don't think it is crazy.
Editors are all volunteers who do some 'work' when and where they want. They are not obliged to look at suggested sites within a specified timeframe.
New editors are always welcome. But we prefer quality above quantity. That is why we have a test (the editor application) to see if you can meet our quality expectations
