Go to the category where you are listed. Do an update URL request.
Be sure that the old URL either: redirects to the new, has a prominent banner announcing the new, or is dead. Otherwise your request will likely be ignored.

The URL you propose always does an automatic redirect to the other one anyway. There's no difference, except that our load places an infinitesimally slightly smaller load on the internet and the user's computer.

No, this is not a reasonable nor a technically justifiable request.

The reason I asked is two-fold. First the url without the www may not work if I move my site to another host since I understand that there is a configuration required to make the server recognize it. For example this url does not work http://airborne.com/ but http://www.airborne.com/ does. I just wanted to avoid any problems down the road. The second reason was just for consistency. Consistency within my log files and consistency with search engines.

I have put a redirect in my .htaccess file to redirect anyone to the url with the www.

I tried a few times yesterday - worked ok on both. The first one does not work right now - who knows why

ADDED

One minute later - they both work again.

The error message (IE) I got was "No DNS records". I don't recall ever seeing that before. But this has nothing to do with the poster's original question, does it?
