Cannot Contact Editor

I have submitted my site 3 times in the last year to Shopping > Pets > Cats & Dogs > Dogs which is managed by <editor name removed>.

I decided recently to use the contact form on <editor name removed> profile to inquire about my site and its inclusion into the odp.

However, upon submitting the contact form I am then told that there is no such editor.

Please advise.

No category is "managed" by only one specific editor. Some categories have named editors, but that does not mean that those people are the only ones who edit there (or indeed that the people named edit actively or regularly in the category where their name appears).

Editors are encouraged not to respond to email from site owners or webmasters, because a very small minority of site owners have threatened or harassed editors (in a few cases quite seriously).

If you have suggested your site once, using the site suggestion form in the one most appropriate category, there is nothing more you need do to bring your site to the attention of the editors; when an editor decides to review suggested sites in that specific category, s/he will review your site, and until that happens, the site suggestion will not expire or go away.

The editor you mentioned is no longer with us. I've regenerated the static category page so that it shows the current state of affairs.

I've had a similar problem with Science > Software > Simulation. Apparently is was last updated 15:09 PT, Thursday, December 3, 2009.

There's no editor listed in that category. There's no reason to assume the cached display is out of date.

1) I can not see a reason to post about the same issue in 2 threads
2) see my answer in the other thread
3) there are categories that were updated much longer ago, and that is not a problem
