I have been trying to get listed and I'm positive that I am following all the right procedures yet my site fails to get posted (YES IT IS SUBMITTED TO THE RIGHT DIRECTORY). I don't know what I'm doing wrong and I've read the procedures over and over again. Now I'm afriad to suggest my site again for fear that it will never see a listing. This entire process is frustrating. I need concrete assistance - is there anyone out there that can tell how to get my site listed?

The most likely reason for a listable site to not be listed yet is simply that no one has gotten around to reviewing yet. If you last suggested the site sometime before our server troubles in Oct-Dec 2006, then one more suggestion won't hurt anything. After that, though, you really just need to forget about it and move on -- someone will eventually review the site but waiting around anxiously for that to happen is just going to frustrate you. You've done all you can do.

You're perhaps expecting us to provide a service to you in timely manner.

The actuality is that we don't try to provide any service to people who suggest websites. We promise to evaluate their suggestions in due course but not in any specific time scale. It can take anywhere from a day or so out to a few years - it all depends what areas our volunteer editors volunteer to work in and when.

Your best policy is to suggest your website just once to the one best category and then move on. The effort that you're devoting to worrying about ODP would be better spent on other promotional means :).

And, you've probably done nothing wrong, your site suggestion is just one of thousands to tens of thousands that we recieve for consideration, all of which are on the same level playing field awaiting review, :).
