Catagory Submission Question

What catagory would I submit http://www.shoppingaogifts.com to? I'm not finding any catagory that it would fall under. It is a gift shop with handcrafted gifts, movies, stain glass and bath and body so it doesn't seem to fit in any particular area. Thank you for your time.

Gift Shop are not aloud in DMOZ?? I see tons of them in there. I don't understand why a retail store with a website cannot be in DMOZ. Everything we sell is in our store ready to ship or made by us on order. It's not like were using a dropship company for our products. Can you explain why?

I am sorry but we do not talk about the reasons why. I will say this though. I spent approximately 3 minutes looking into your site and in that time was able to determine that you did not qualify for a listing. 3 minutes - and I did not even enter your site into dmoz.org to check any notes or anything like that. The reason is obvious - read the submission guidelines. They explain why, they are just not specific to you.

Now, with that said, just because your site does not qualify for a listing in dmoz.org does not make it a bad site. That is not what we are saying here. There are all types of ways to promote your site on the web. Pursue those. You can have a very successful website promotion campaign without being listed in dmoz. I wish you all the luck in the world with that.

The last thing is please don't ask the reason why anymore. It says in the forum guidelines that we don't get into specifics. We are not going to get specific here so please just let it go.
