Categories without Editors / waiting since 2001

This category hasn't changed since a long time. Timestamp says last update was April 20, 2003 but i'm still waiting for an inclusion of a site i have first submitted in summer 2001. http://www.dmoz.org/Recreation/Pets/Dogs/Directories/

After months without activity (29.10.2002) i submitted to http://www.dmoz.org/Recreation/Pets/Dogs/Search_Engines/ - which was created in 2002 and is more related - but the site hasn't been listed there neither.

Latest submission to the Search Engines cat was on Jan 8, 2004. Which meta editor might be interested in having a look there? I don't find an appropriate editor somewhere in the upper levels. Is there a big back log or is there hope? ;)

Both categories seem to be pretty stale since a few years now.

If you want a status on the site, you're going to have to actually tell us what the URL is. We're not going to pore through the pool of unreviewed trying to guess which one you're talking about.

You can get the status of your submission by posting in the submission status forum as long as you fully read the forum guidelines on how to format your post. I have been recently editing in the area that you mentioned so I can tell you that the category is not abandoned. You will just have to be patient but you should request a status check on your submission. Please be sure to read the status check guidelines first. Thanks.

I know this would be your prefered way but i don't want to have my site publically reviewed here.

I have been recently editing in the area that you mentioned so I can tell you that the category is not abandoned.

How do you mean, "publicly reviewed"? We never review sites based on a posting in Resource-Zone - occasionally an editor speaking as a web user and not an editor comments on a site but that does not have any impact on the DMOZ review...

Well, I made an educated guess after my earlier post and if it's the one I think it is, it was never received in the first category and wasn't appropriate for the second one. It is currently waiting in the appropriate category (which is neither of the ones you mention here). For anything more detailed than that, you'll have to actually give the URL (after all, my educated guess could be completely wrong).

As for asking someone here to review your site (and to reiterate what spectregunner just said), no, you can't do that. It would be extremely inappropriate for you to email or PM anyone to ask that they review your site.

Well, Uluru, since you can't give us any more details, we can only say that all submission and update requests will get processed eventually.

LOL Since you don't know what my educated guess was, you have no way of knowing that. BTW I'm pretty sure I was right but, hey, since you obviously don't actually want a status check on your site for whatever reason, this thread has run its course and is being closed.

Is there a way that I can check to see if my site is entered and eventually will be looked at, without bothering anybody? I listed twice and no good. I just want to make sure it is there, and I don't want to wait a month before I find out that I screwed it up.
