Hello all,

I have a Blog/Website that some joker has placed on the ODP as a Male Escort/Gay Male and although the extra traffic is nice I do not like people being misled

the domain name = http://www.david123.com which is owned by me and not at all relevant to it's category.

Whoever put the dom name there thanks but no thanks :rolleyes:

If anyone could move the dom name I'd be really grateful

Actually, David, that domain was deleted from the ODP in July of 2001. And has not been listed since. Could be that some of the directories using our data just haven't updated since then.

Maybe you took over a URL that belonged to someone else, and back then it had different content. Why not post the place where you found it listed?

It was listed in 2000 in an Adult category Bobrat. There's no dispute over that. It isn't listed there any more.

Oh yes, back then that URL was clearly Adult, but maybe the domain expired, and he then happened to register a new domain [with totally different content] that just happened to have the same name.

I'm just wondering which user of ODP data still has this very old data listed, I searched and found none.

I assume the same sequence of events Bobrat. Just saying that it's not really necessary to post the URL to an Adult category in an out of date ODP clone. We prefer to keep all Adult URLs in the Adult forum.

Of course this thread could be moved there, but so far it doesn't need to be.

That would be when they last imported the category from us. Our equivalent category no longer exists.

We have no control over what Netscape (or anybody else for that matter) does with our data because it's freely available to all. I can only suggest that you contact Netscape.

Yep, it's way behind. It's sad that Netscape cannot keep it's own directory up to date. :(
