Category Editing

I noticed a category that said "category needs an editor". Whats the difference between that and "volunteer to edit this category"?

No difference - a change or wording was put in place that will take some time to propgate to all categories. "this category needs an editor" seesm to imply that no editing can happen in the categroy, which is one of the myths of ODP. "volunteer" sounds better
