Category has no editor, do I get listed?

I would like to post my site in a category that doesn't have any editor, because it says 'Volunteer to edit this category'.
Will my site get listed, if I submit it in this category? Or should I rather find a category with an editor?
cheers MangoZero

No, never.

...

Joking, of course. Any category can be edited from the editors up the tree and from a large bunch of editors with EditAll permission, so there is no category that is totally disbanded.

You should submit to the category your site will fit best in, whether there is an editor named for it or not. If, let's say, you submit to Animals/Mammals/Rodents/Rodents_of_Unusual_Size, any editor in Animals/, Animals/Mammals/ and Animals/Mammals/Rodents/ can edit your submission - as well as a few hundred editors with editing rights in the whole directory. If you submit to Animals/Mammals/Rodents/Voles because it has a named editor, all you do is set yourself up for some extra waiting time, as that editor will have to move your submission to Rodents_of_Unusual_Size after which it can wait for an editor to come by and review it.

Hope that made sense :)

nea was slower, but worth the wait.

It's always worth repeating: these submittal guidelines are there for your benefit, and following them will be to your advantage. It may be harder to believe that when someone doesn't take the trouble to explain why...but it is no less true.
