i was just about to submit my site to the category which suits it exactly but noticed it hadn't been updated for 3 months and the the other sub-categories were the same. What should i do should i submit it and wait as patience is a virtue ;) or is there any other ideas?

If it's the best fit for your site then submitting there is certainly the fastest way to have your site reviewed and listed - it will only get moved there anyway and the extra move will take more time. After a month, you can ask for a status request in the Site Submission Status forum. :)

If you don't suggest your site it won't get into ODP, unless an editor goes hunting for sites and finds it by himself.

But if you do suggest your site, an editor may come along tomorrow and decide to work on that category and maybe your site gets listed :)

But patience and understanding are always advised. :p

It's like planting a tree, choose the soil carefully, place the seed the best way possible, come back in a while and admire the results. But don't sit and watch the tree grow.

:flower: [But new gardeners are always welcome to apply and work in the forest] :flower:

And suggesting guideline compliant titles and descriptions (or at least something that comes close to it) will certainly do no harm. ;)

Don't hold your breath. I've waited for months on submissions and my logs prove that DMOZ editors have visited the site and have not approved the submission. :(
