Cateogories without editors

I apologize as I assume this question has been asked elsewhere before, but I couldn't find it.

My question is, how often do categories without editors get updated? I submitted my site to one such category about 2 months ago and haven't seen any activity in that category since... Should I find a similar category with an editor and submit?

Even though a category does not show an editor does not mean that an editor is not working there. As a matter of fact - with higher level category editors, editalls, and metas, there are literally hunderds of editors for every category in the directory.
