Change Category

Our site is listed in Dmoz (itz in the regional category). How can i move the existing listing from the regional category to Software Engineering Category?

Hi, a site can be listed twice if it has a physical location - once in a regional category and once under its topic. So there is no need to move it. Since your site has been listed in regional it obviously has a physical location.

Your site should now be waiting in the unreviewed pile for the appropriate topical category (Software Engineering Category). If you have not suggested it there yourself and want to be sure it is there, then a single suggestion to that category [once the site is up again] will not be regarded as spam.

Editors visit different categories at different times and so there is no predicting when the site will be reviewed again in the topical category (and - boilerplate - just because it was listed under regional does not automatically mean it fulfills the conditions for any particular topical category) .

We cannot predict as we do not know when an editor will decide to visit that category nor how much work they will do when they get there.

The best advice is to "suggest and forget".
