I submitted our url for sonsideration (www.truewayssurvival.com) and it's not yet been listed - that's ok as I appreciate it takes a while. However, our organisation has been given some advice on domain names and have since bought a new domain name which is apparently better for us (www.survival-school.org) as it describes what we do better. I therefore submitted the new domain name for consideration instead. However, I didn't see a way of letting the editors know that we would like to change our listed name and that we're not trying to sneak 2 listing in. The old domain name will still run for a short time as we move over but all of our efforts are now being put into the new name. If there are any editors reading could you please let me know what I should do or could you possible help ensure the right people know we're not trying to break any rules?

Thanks very much.

If one redirects (e.g. 301 redirect) to the other, then we will see the redirect and list the place at the end of the redirection chain, and ignore the starting point.

If there is no redirect in place, we will list the one that is mentioned in the "we have moved to..." notice. This notice needs to be on the site that you DO NOT want listed.

Redirected now - but...

Hi - Thanks for the good and prompt advice. I've set the perminent redirect up on the IIS server which I believe (I hope) is the same as a 301 redirect and it's all working. One thing, would you mind letting whoever it is moderates that category that I'm not trying to submit my url twice. I believe this is a bannable offense and obviously wouldn't want this to happen. This would be very much appreciated.

Thanks and regards,

Lyndon.

What you can do that will make absolutely sure nobody thinks this is -- submit the OLD URL to the SAME category. Put in your suggested description, "do not list this, notice that the URL has forwarded and the new URL is submitted separately"

That will replace the original submittal.

Another, completely separate issue. Nobody "moderates" any category, in any useful or normal sense of that word. Various people may "edit" -- perhaps dozens or hundreds, over time -- and the last edit rules. In that respect it's very much like Wikipedia. The only "moderation" is of EDITORS (that is, removing those who are harmfully disruptive or of course harmfully editing). Cleaning up after harmful editing is, like any other editing task, shared by whoever volunteers to do it.
