Changing my application category

When I applied I found what appeared to be a small category that would be good for my first category at the ODP. Then, after applying, I noticed that the parent category to which I had applied was open, and that it was also still quite small.

If I would like to apply for the parent category, would it be best to wait until my application is processed and then apply for a change, or can I submit this request somewhere now?

You can only have one application running at a time so I suggest that you wait patiently until that has been processed.

Now you need to wait: only one pending "new editor" application at a time per person.

Once you're an editor, moving up to a small parent category can happen pretty quickly.
