Changing My Blog's URL

Hello,

I had to change my blog's URL. My blog is currently listed as AllThingsFinancial (<url deleted>. I need to change the name to AllFinancialMatters and the URL to <url deleted>. Everything else is staying the same. It is the same blog, just a different name.

Is there anything I need to do on my end?

Thanks,

JLP

First of all, there is nothing anyone can do now, see the announcements.

Second, go through the motions you'd do to move a website, if the ODP didn't exist, but you wanted all your old visitors to know about the new website. This, of course, you can do immediately--if you haven't done it already. There is nothing else you need to do.

However, you might be able to help the ODP. When feedback channels open up (in a few weeks, maybe) you could suggest an "update listing" for that site. If you do this, it is very possible that the site would be re-reviewed more quickly than if you left the editors to find the inaccuracy for themselves.

But as always, there are no deadlines or priorities imposed from outside the editor's own desire to help, so we can't tell you exactly when an editor would check either the listing itself, or the update suggestion.

Well, we won't process a request in this forum (even if we could - which we can't), so you need to wait until the system is working again (see the announcement) and then use the 'update listing' link in the category the site is currently listed in.

At that time there should be information on the site that the old url resolves to that shows the change to the new url (or the old url should not resolve at all, but from your perspective you are better keepig the old one 301 redirected) based on what I can see at a quick glance that information is there (Site Title, email domain on contact details)
