I submitted my site (www.thenexusvoid.com) a while ago, and i would like to check the status of the submission. I tried to rediscover what category i went into, but i cannot find it.

My site is a place for people to submit reviews, chat forums, and there are news also. The sections that it covers are games, movies, books, music, and even technology (only news and forums for technology).

I believe i submitted my site under a editorial/review subsection in the arts area.

EDIT: it's possibly here http://dmoz.org/Arts/Literature/Reviews_and_Criticism/

Is there any way for you all to know where i may have submitted my site?

Im sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you all. I lost my email server recently and the backup software is being less than cooperative.

Thank you,

Windowns

I don't see that url waiting in that category, nor has it been moved or deleted. You either suggested it elsewhere or something went wrong. Choose the single best category for the site, resubmit once, remember where you submitted and return to this same thread in one month.

And no, with no history on the url we can't guess where it is. We'd have to search all half-million categories.

Thank you for your prompt responce. Will it cause problems if i resubmit my site in another section? I remember reading in the submission process that double submissions will be ignored, and the offending site will not be approved. I do not want this to happen to me.

Also i am having a hard time finding the appropriate category for my site. Basically it is an online literature site where people can post their own reviews on games, movies, music, and books. Also we will have the latest news for each of those categories. If you can give some insight that would be awsome. I really dont want to put myself in the wrong spot, as it will lead to my site being un-approved. If you cannot give insite, i will do the best i can and hope for the best.

One more question: If i resubmit, then do i start the waiting period over, and not come back to inquire about my submission for over a month?

Thank you for your time,
Windowns

Submit to the most appropriate category you can find. We don't reject sites for submitting to the wrong category; we merely move them to the right category for review.

The "waiting period" is for status checks in this forum only, and yes, it is one month from the "latest" submittal (or six months from the latest status check -- but what you just got was a non-status check, so that doesn't doesn't apply).

For the actual submittal, there is no "designated delay" for the site review -- an editor can review the site ten minutes after you submit it, or two years after, or even a year BEFORE.

Whew, i know it's been a LONG time since i have been around here. But things have gotten more than crazy, which im sure you all understand. I will be resubmitting my site, and i will post the section that i submit it to here. And i will continue to use this thread to check the status of my website.

Thanks you two for your help, sorry it took me this long to get back to you.

Site resubmitted under

Arts/Entertainment/Reviews

the description i gave was:

The place where you will find reviews and news for games, movies, music and even books. Users can post in forms to meet new people, and post their own reviews.

Im quite happy with this section, it will work perfectly. hehe.. i guess it is easier to find a section when things are little clearer in your mind ;)

Thanks again for your help, and i'll see you all again in a month.

1.)The URL i submitted - http://www.thenexusvoid.com

2.)I submitted the site under the Arts/Entertainment/Reviews section.

wow sweet! that sounds like my first submission too! Pretty wild i made it into the same category twice.. hehe.

I do have a question for you all. Since the submission that you referred to (and im assuming that's the one under review, and not the submission from 13/Jan/05) was posted on 10/Jun/04. Does that mean i work the 6 month re-status check from there, or do i wait six months from THIS status check?

My third sence tells me to wait six months from now and not six months from 10/Jun/05.

I'd definately imagine you all are pretty busy.. so if i dont get a response on this i'll just assume to wait six months from now.

Thanks djdeeds for your prompt response!

Six months from now. But hopefully that will be unnecessary - because an editor took some time to review your site before.

*BLUSH* really? he took a while to look at the site? .. hehe.. sorry i couldnt resist. I do love my web site. There has been more functionality added to the site since that submission, and im making changes to the site frequently... hehe. But the premise is still the same. :)

Thanks for the quick response and your attention to the site. I hope you all enjoyed it ;)

It has been a pleasure working with everyone thus far in getting the site listed. I do hope the site gets listed before the six months are up, but if not.. i am looking forward to checking in again in six months, as your staff are very informative and prompt in their responses.

Thanks again.

Oh my, English as a second language ... I didn't mean to say that an editor has already taken a look at your site. I meant to say that I hope that an editor will have taken a look at your site soon (and review it).

Can anyone help me say that in good English? :-/

Ahh.. lol.. that's ok.. hehe. I understand the confusion there ;) I'd imagine if i tried typing stuff out in spanish it'd get a little weird too ;) i can speak it.. but writing it is a little harder ;) It's ok. I will be checking back in after 6 months... of course in the mean time i'll be checking your site to see if it got listed.. but other than that.. i'll see you all in six months.

Thanks again for all of your help!
