This is not an attempt to get my sites listed by the back door rather an attempt to gain some form of understanding of how this process works.
I have been trying to get some Social and Child Welfare web sites listed on dmoz for months and for some reason don't seem to be getting anywhere. I can get the sites into Google, Yahoo, MSN, Altavista but not dmoz.
They are as follows (for anyone interested):
http://www.childrensservicesnorthernireland.com
http://www.childrensserviceswales.com
I have tried drilling down to the correct categories and then submitting but nothing appears to be happening.
The two sites share two items of information in common. Certain text items are similar (the principle of Adoption in all countries is similar - how you go about it is not). Other differences are that we cater for different approaches on a different nationality basis (for anyone who knows, the Irish are different to the Welsh!)and also key legislation is different for each individual country.
There is no other way to present this information and this is a very important child welfare service that operates from a very tight budget (what budget)so ppc would not be suitable etc.
One issue that I have thought about but cannot find a way round is are we being considered as "spamming" dmoz if we have two sites that share certain items of information but not the majority of information?
If anyone has the time to look at this and advise I would be extremely grateful.
