choice of category

Hi,
I am still trying to make sure of certain criteria before I apply.
Is it OK to apply for a category with 200 sites and indicate a subcategory as a second choice? I have chosen my hometown and would like the general involvement that category would offer were I accepted.
Is it acceptable/wise to give the url of a site I have constructed? I have been looking for some time and I am finding it difficult to find sites that have not been accepted already.
Thank you for any advice,
Lawrie

Generally editors are accepted into categories with 100 sites or less, so you may have trouble there. And as far as I know, you can't 'second choice' a category - if you are rejected from your first category, you will need to reapply for the subcategory.

AFAIK it is acceptable, if that site would fit in the category and you give it a suitable and unbiased title and description. If all 3 sites that you gave were yours we'd be suspicious, however.

To add to what Neil said -- just be sure that you list that URL as an affiliation on any future applications.

Hi,
In the end I did not put my own site but found others. I did apply for the 200+ category so I guess I will have to wait, get the news and apply again :-(
cheers
