Computer Error During Submission

On May 10, 2005 I submitted my site to the Open Directory. When I submitted I experienced a power outage and could not verify that my submission went through. I was planning to check on June 10 to make sure that it was successfully received, but I want to respect your new guidelines. My question is, am I able to submit my site again? I am sorry to bother you with my question as I am sure you folks are busy. Thank you for your time and consideration.

It will be fine for you to submit one more time. Two submissions are not enough to cause any major problems. :)

Yes, in a case like this, submit again without worrying. Most of the time, resubmittals (if that is what it turns out to be) just overwrite the prior submittal.

And the rest of the time ... we haven't yet shot anyone for submitting the same site twice. It was allowed in the old submittal policy anyway.

It's the resubmitting every month, or every week, or the like; or submitting different URLs for the same entity's web presence; that gets you on editors' lists of people to shun at public gatherings.

Same site URL. Same ODP category. One more time.

No problem.

Resubmitted my site

I resubmitted my website as instructed, but I feel I might have made a mistake. I think I submitted to a different category as I was not sure if my first submission went through. I am very sorry if I broke the rules, it was an honest mistake and not gross ignorance nor inattention to the rules. My question is will I be penalized for my stupidty? Thanks again for your assistance in this matter.

For obvious reasons I won't say how many submissions of the same url it takes to be branded a spammer.

I will say this: The number is larger than two.

So, if you suggested a site once, realized that the category was wrong, and suggested it again then I see no problem.

No problem, we appreciate your effort to play by the rules and your honesty in admitting that you may have inadvertantly broken the rules. :thumb2:
