Confusing Problem - Google issue

M

mc9ag

Our site (www.promowarehouse.co.uk) is not listed on the Google Directory (content from Dmoz?)

However when you type 'The Promo Warehouse' as a directory search, you get our main competitor (www.promopen.com).

Why is this, they have nothing to do with The Promo Warehouse Ltd and are receiving a lot of our search traffic?

Have they got some hidden code or incorrect description.

How can this urgent problem be solved?

Re: Confusing Problem - 2

The Google Directory does get its content from DMOZ, but the search results are all its own. That is, we don't know anything about Google's search results (even in Directory search) and we can't and shouldn't do anything to influence them. You will have to ask in some other search engine forum about this. Sorry not to be able to be of more help. . .

Marshall, this may be annoying, but atleast you are ranked second.

Tell me have you conducted much search engine optimisation for your website?

Because your website in general is very nicely laid out.

This is not an issue that has anything to do with the ODP, and ODP editors cannot be expected to arbitrate between your competitor's fortune and your problem. (If the situation were reversed, would you want us addressing the problem?)

You should ask the question in one of the many Google forums.
