Just wanted to pop my head in to say thanks to the mods and editors that helped me out when I first joined the forum asking questions.

My site has now finally been listed on dmoz, funnily enough not with my description or choice of category so I'm guessing it got picked up by one of the other editors (thank you whoever you are :D).

The category in which we have been listed focuses on a specialized area which makes up only about a 2% of the whole website. I was wondering if the index of the website could be listed in another category?

Anywhoooo, thanks for your time, it's appreciated.

If your main URL was listed and you believe the site should be in another category, navigate to the category where it is currently listed and using the "update listing" link at the top of the page explain the reasons for the requested change. This will alert an editor, who will re-review the listing and make a decision based on what they find on the actual site.

If on the other hand a focused inner page (or deeplink) of your site was listed separately then yes, that would most likely have been added by an editor looking for information on a "specialized" topic and would not have any direct effect your initial submission.
