Here I would like to give a suggestion and I think this will help the whole management of ODP to decrease the ratio of questions about "site submitted but not listed from last ... years".

A list of daily listed websites should be updated in a category where people can get idea that ODP editors are working properly and listing websites.

Any comments?

You can already do this for yourself on an approximately weekly basis. Just download our rdf database and compare it with the previous one :).

To do what you want to see would require either extra work from editors or the expenditure of scarce programming resources on AOL's staff. The first is unreasonable and the latter is subject to priorities. Frankly, I'd prefer that we spent what programming effort we have on easing the editorial task.

I was suggesting about a category in which everyone can visit without rdf.

As Jim said, for AOL staff it's probably not a priority at the moment (though I agree it might be a nice feature to add). There's nothing to stop an individual volunteer editor or indeed a member of the public from implementing a "new listings in the ODP this week" page using the RDF dumps, if they feel it's worth the effort. If you really want to see such a feature, then why not try putting something together yourself?

(This is the beauty of open content -- the ODP data is available for others to use, so they can implement features like this if they want them.)
