Delete a site

I want to have my site removed from DMOZ and I have completed the update listing in the category my site is in.

How soon can I expect this request to be actioned?

Working sites which also meet our criteria for listing are not removed from the ODP purely at the request of someone (even their owner), because we try to be a comprehensive directory of what is available on the internet.

However, if anyone finds a site (whether it is their own or not) which is no longer working, or is hijacked or misplaced etc, we certainly welcome the information. In this forum, you are encouraged to use the Quality Control thread, or you can use the Update URL feature in the category where the site is listed (as you have done), and the issue will be addressed by a volunteer in due course. As with all volunteer activities, there is no specific time frame for this.

How can I tell if there is an editor for my category and whether or not they are active?

I found a reason why my site should be removed, so I'm hoping that the request can be actioned soon.

As you can read in the FAQ (to which you have been given 2 direct links), no category is without an editor, because there are over 200 volunteers who can edit in every category.
My post explained how to report problems, and emphasised that all such requests are handled by volunteers, so there is no way to speed up the process of review.
