I am a NOOB (so bear with me please). I notice that there is no category for adult post-secondary education (at least none that I could find). This is where DeVRY and others (particularly in the for-profit sector) belong.

In contrast DeVRY has a category with sub-categories for indivudual DeVRY schools.

From oneeye to another...

http://dmoz.org/Reference/Education/Colleges_and_Universities/North_America/DeVry_University/ ?

All colleges and universities are listed in the Reference branch in their own category - if not they can be if there are sites (plural) to list.

Other post-secondary education establishments will be found in Regional.

DeVry University is at North_America level because it is very unusual in having campuses in more than one country. All the others come under their country or further down still, their state/province/etc. Because of the very unusual geographical spread and the existence of specialist schools, DeVry has had to be dealt with in a way unique to them.

http://dmoz.org/Reference/Education...ited_Kingdom/England/University_of_Cambridge/ is another example, with sub-categories for all its colleges. Though the treatment here is more conventional because it is focused in one city. However, you will also find the specialist medical school in http://dmoz.org/Health/Medicine/Education/Medical_Schools/United_Kingdom/

http://dmoz.org/Reference/Education/Colleges_and_Universities/Caribbean/Jamaica/ is an example where there are insufficient websites to create separate categories for each institution but if any of them started to produce a plethora of good listable sites then a category would be created especially for it.

There doesn't need to be a category for vocational and industrial schools. Like two-year community colleges (and, for that matter, like high schools) these are very common and intensely local in focus. So they get listed in Regional, as opposed to Reference.

DeVry is not (IIRC) the only vocational school chain (it may be the only multistate one), so we could probably create a subcat for such organizations.

By "own" category, it's in the top level - not even under computer colleges.

DeVRY, Education Management, Career Education, Lincoln Tech, Berkeley Colleges and so on are all for-profit and belong in their own category. These are adult post-secondary career schools.

Where things become sticky is that there are for-profit colleges, like DeVRY, that are Regionally accredited and have the same legal status as Columbia or Georgetown.

OTH, there are non-profit educators in the same sector that are managed by for-profit companies. For example, Global Business College in New York.

Given that this is an area of expertise, perhaps I should volunteer to edit???
