Different question about submission

I have recently completed a shop site http://www.countrypineshop.co.uk and would like to submit it to http://dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/Uni...ia/Cockermouth/Business_and_Economy/Shopping/ but an old site exists in this location for the same shop made by somebody else which has a different address and content, the address of this old site is
http://www.cockermouth.org.uk/countrypine. Would this affect my submission as it is the same business and if so is there any way I could get the author of this site to have it removed as the shop owner wants to use the new site only?
Thanks

As only one listing is generally added to the directory per business, it is highly unlikely that two sites for this business would be listed. If the site owner wishes the new site to be used instead of the old one, then they need to do something to the old one to render it unlistable. THe most effective way to do this is to set up a redirect to the new site form the old site. Then, not only will editors see that the new site is the "official" on e, but any surfers who had added the "old" URT to their bookmarks/favorites will be redirected, and hence the owner shouldn't lose business.

Without doing something like that (or taking the old site down completely) I don't see much chance of the new one being listed.

Hope this helps.

Yes, thanks, if a redirect is set up, does dmoz need to be informed or not?
Nice id pic by the way

If you have not done so, you may submit an update request (using the "update URL" link on the category page) asking to have the old URL changed to the new. Doing this, in conjunction with setting up a redirect on the old site, is probably the best idea.

Good advice - but please set up the redirect before you submit the Update Listing request - if we have an editor that is on the ball, they may check it immediately and deny the request.
