Hi,

Over the past year or two I have tried to submit one of our sites and it has evidently been unsuccesfuly. There are no ads on the site, it is well designed, there is unique content. I wonder if I am submitting it to the wrong category.

Here is the problem I am running into. Our site is about Employee Assistance Programs, but it is not an Employee Assistance Program. I tried in the past to submit it here
http://dmoz.org/Business/Human_Resources/Employee_Relations/Motivation_and_Rewards/
Are content portals listed in DMOZ? All of the sites listed in this category are actual Employee Assistance Programs but our site is ABOUT employee assistance programs. Is it possible for our site to be listed?

As you can see from the FAQ, the most common reason a site has not been listed is simply that a volunteer editor has not yet reviewed it, so there is no need to worry that it is because you chose the wrong category. Editors move sites all the time, so if an editor feels it belongs somewhere else, that will be done.

You can assess for yourself whether your site is suitable for listing by looking at the ODP guidelines. Of course no site is guaranteed a listing, but thank you for suggesting one. :)
