Directory Update

Hi guys,

When can we next expect a directory update?

http://dmoz.org is updated in realtime.

If you're talking about the Google Open Directory - no one knows. It's updated on a monthly basis though.

In which case, why does a search for www.dataperception.com return empty when Jim included my URL in two Regions on 16/4? See http://resource-zone.com/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=submissions&Number=1766&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=21&fpart=

Um, er, ignore this thread. Obviously too much screen and insufficient beer. Searching on wrong key phrase. Forgot that you guys determine the description. I was expecting to find 'access database development' in the description not 'access database developers'.

I assume you're talking about the search engine found on http://dmoz.org homepage.

In addition to being highly irrelevant (no one uses the DMOZ search engine besides editors), the search function is in the process of being rebuilt. You shouldn't be worried about your site - as long as it's in the directory it will be passed on to the sites that use ODP data.

Some of the Sites_Using_ODP_Data use it, too, even if they have custom result pages. /images/icons/smile.gif
