Hey guys,

After I saw how badly edited the category of my hometown (Top: Regional: Europe: Portugal: Districts: Coimbra: Coimbra) was I decided to apply for editor on Dmoz..for my surprise I was rejected with only the common reasons for rejection. I think my application was perfectly OK and, at the very least, I could be doing a better job than the current editor. My english might not be perfect but it is more than fine for short descriptions.

At least they paid attention to some of the improper and broken links I reported and removed them but why reject my application and keep on having a badly edited category? I even included information about the editing I did on wikitravel for "Coimbra" which I am sure is more than fine and which was certainly more complex that being an editor of a small category.

Yes, I am looking for some comfort on this ;P but I simply don't understand how you keep your quality when you reject capable people that are willing to help.

Anyway, on thing I put in my application and they didn't consider was about "Coimbra: Conimbriga" : why not link this listing with the ruins' official website which has an english version???

Well, I wish Dmoz a very sucessful existance but I hink you should check your criteria.

If you know of a better site on the subject, please feel free to suggest it - anything that improves a category is always welcome :)
